DAY 1

Arrival in Hanoi

Meals: Meals on own

Arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and transfer to the hotel in the Old Quarter.

 

After check-in, the rest of the day is open so you can rest after the flight, unpack, or begin exploring nearby streets depending on your arrival time.

 

The Old Quarter is one of Hanoi’s most active historic districts, with narrow streets, small shops, food stalls, and everyday city life unfolding close to the hotel.

 

Meals today are on your own, which gives travelers flexibility after a long travel day.

DAY 2

Hanoi Countryside, Bat Trang Ceramics, and Vun Art

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, we leave the busiest streets of Hanoi by Jeep and cross the Red River toward the countryside communities outside the city. This guided experience gives us a closer look at the Red River Delta, where farmland, villages, and urban growth meet. Along the way, we learn about daily life outside central Hanoi and how industrialization and development are changing communities near the capital.

 

We continue to Bat Trang Ceramic Village, a long-established pottery village known for traditional ceramic production. The visit introduces us to a craft that has been part of the region’s identity for generations and helps connect material culture to local livelihoods.

 

In the afternoon, we visit Vun Art in Van Phuc Silk Village for a hands-on silk mosaic workshop. Using recycled silk scraps, guests create artwork while learning about a social enterprise that supports artisans with hearing and physical disabilities. This is a meaningful stop because it connects traditional silk craft, creative reuse, and vocational opportunity in one experience.

 

Later, we return to central Hanoi for an evening street food and night market experience before going back to the hotel.

DAY 3

Mai Chau Community Experience

After breakfast, we leave Hanoi and travel to Mai Chau, a valley surrounded by mountains and home to ethnic minority communities. The drive moves us from the capital into a more rural landscape, giving travelers a different view of northern Vietnam beyond the city.

 

Upon arrival, we begin a community-based experience connected to sustainable tourism and local livelihoods.

 

Lunch is hosted locally and features traditional dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

In the afternoon, we explore nearby villages by bicycle or on foot. We visit traditional stilt houses, meet local families and artisans, and observe weaving techniques that remain part of daily and cultural life in the region. 

 

In the evening, we settle into the homestay for a traditional dinner. A local music and dance performance may be available as an optional activity, depending on final arrangements.

DAY 4

Mai Chau Market, School Visit, and White Thai Brocade Weaving

This morning, we visit a local market where community members gather to trade produce, handmade goods, and everyday items. Markets are useful places to understand how food, craft, language, and social life come together in a rural region.

 

We also visit a local school, where we have a chance to meet students and teachers and observe a small part of the daily school environment. Final school access will depend on permissions and the school calendar.

 

Later, we meet White Thai artisans and learn about brocade weaving in a traditional stilt house setting. The experience includes thread preparation, natural coloring, loom weaving, and a chance to try a small hands-on weaving activity. This helps connect the finished textile to the time, skill, and cultural knowledge behind it.

 

After lunch in Mai Chau, we return to Hanoi and check back into the hotel for the evening.

DAY 5

Hanoi to Bai Tu Long Bay

After breakfast, we travel from Hanoi toward the coast and board our cruise for Bai Tu Long Bay. This area is known for limestone karst formations rising from the water, creating a landscape shaped by geology, time, and the movement of the sea.

 

After check-in and lunch onboard, we cruise through the bay and take in the limestone scenery from the water. In the afternoon, weather permitting, we kayak in the Cap La area among rock islets and quiet stretches of the bay. Kayaking offers a closer, slower way to experience the scale of the landscape than viewing it only from the deck.

 

In the evening, dinner is served onboard, followed by free time. Guests may relax, spend time on deck, or join optional evening cruise activities such as squid fishing if available.

DAY 6

Caves, Kayaking, and Beach Time in Bai Tu Long Bay

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We begin the day onboard with a morning Tai Chi session on the sundeck and breakfast in the fresh air. The pace of the morning gives travelers time to experience the bay as the light changes across the water and limestone formations.

 

Our activities today include a visit to Thien Canh Son Cave and kayaking in the Hon Co area. Caves in limestone regions form slowly as water moves through rock over long periods of time, leaving behind chambers, stalactites, and other formations that reveal the bay’s geologic history.

 

We continue toward Cong Dam for a beach walk, relaxation, and lunch on the beach. Later, we return to the cruise with time for onboard amenities or a Vietnamese cooking demonstration, depending on the final cruise schedule.

Dinner is served onboard, followed by another free evening on the bay.

DAY 7

Fishing Village, Water Puppets, and Flight to Bangkok

This morning, we visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village by bamboo boat with local fishermen. The visit introduces us to a way of life connected closely to the water and gives us a different view of community in the bay.

 

After returning to the cruise, we check out and enjoy brunch as the boat returns toward the harbor. We then continue to Yen Duc Village for a traditional water puppet show, a Vietnamese performance art form connected to village culture and water-based storytelling.

 

Later in the day, we transfer to Hanoi airport for the flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival in Thailand, we transfer to the hotel and settle in for the night.

DAY 8

Railway Market, Floating Market, Temples, and Bangkok Food

Today we explore Bangkok and the surrounding market culture. We begin at Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors set up directly beside the train tracks and quickly move their goods when the train passes. The market shows how local commerce has adapted around a working railway.

 

We continue toward Ratchaburi Province, stopping at a coconut sugar house to learn how coconut sugar is produced and to taste fresh young coconut. From there, we visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and travel by long-tail boat through canals, plantations, and traditional villages before reaching the market itself.

 

In the afternoon, we return to Bangkok to visit Wat Pho, home of the Reclining Buddha, and the Grand Palace, one of Thailand’s most important royal and religious sites. Temple and palace visits require appropriate attire, so guests should plan to cover shoulders and knees.

 

In the evening, we explore Bangkok’s Chinatown by private tuk tuk for a guided street food experience. Yaowarat Road is known for its food culture, and the evening may include tastings such as satay, Pad Thai, seafood rice porridge, red-pork noodles, Thai desserts, Chinese sweets, local snacks, and herbal drinks.

DAY 9

Bangkok to Koh Lanta

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for the flight from Bangkok to Krabi.

 

From Krabi, we continue south by road and shared ferry toward Koh Lanta, an island in the Andaman Sea known for beaches, coastal scenery, and a quieter pace than Thailand’s larger resort areas.

Lunch is included at the resort upon arrival.

 

After check-in, the afternoon is open for beach, pool, or rest time. This gives the group a natural pause after several days of city, village, and cruise activities.

 

In the evening, we gather again for dinner at the hotel.

DAY 10

Trang Four Islands Tour

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we head out by shared transfer and speedboat for a full-day island experience in the Trang area. The excursion is scheduled to include Koh Mook, Koh Kradan, Koh Ngai, and Koh Cheuak, with a mix of swimming, snorkeling, beach time, and limestone coastal scenery.

 

At Koh Mook, guests visit Emerald Cave, where the experience involves swimming through a sea cave into an enclosed lagoon surrounded by cliffs. This activity requires comfort in the water, and final participation details should be confirmed before departure.

We continue to Koh Kradan for beach time, swimming, and snorkeling, then to Koh Ngai for lunch and time to relax by the water. The final stop is Koh Cheuak, known for shallow coral reefs and snorkeling conditions.

 

The tour includes snorkeling equipment and life jackets. We return to the resort in the late afternoon and have dinner at the hotel.

DAY 11

Departure from Koh Lanta

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, the morning is open until checkout and departure. We transfer from Koh Lanta back toward Krabi Airport for onward flights.

This final day closes a trip that has moved from Vietnam’s capital city to rural valley communities, limestone bay landscapes, Bangkok’s markets and temples, and the island ecosystems of southern Thailand.
