Nonprofit Partners

Destination Earth is based on the idea

that the most powerful change

comes from within a community, not outside it.

By partnering with non profits that are already successfully integrated into the communities we work with, our mission to transform lives of those we visit for the better becomes a reality with each project we initiate.

We hope that beyond traveling with us, you will work with these communities through our non profit partners who continue to affect change long after we leave the country. This is done by the support of the global community we are all a part of.

Projects

Our Projects with them:

The Ponheary Ly Foundation:

is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the USA. Their goal is to locate and serve the many children in Cambodia who live in the poorest rural villages and do not have access to equitable educational opportunities.

Bridge: With the help of  travelers like you, Destination Earth facilitated the building of the bridge to allow Children to get to school by crossing a dangerous river during monsoon season. This school is not only education, but the source of the only nourishing meal these children have in a day

Kitchen: We also helped the foundation rebuild the school kitchen, providing a clean dry place for kids to get nourishment with new ovens/stoves made out of concrete, not clay.

Library: This year we are excited to work with Ponheary to facilitate the building of a library for the school.

CONCERT

This registered Cambodian NGO was created by a British man and his cambodian wife. The program connects volunteers with specific skills, with a network of vetted non profits that are need of the help.  Click on logo to learn more about them, and let us know how you can help.

Computer program!

We have donated two computers to the program which assists the Treak community center's computer program (one of the affiliates) so that children have the opportunity to make a living wage.

If you have any laptop computer that you would be wiling to donate, please Contact Us. and we will deliver them to the school on our next trip if you are not able to join us in person.

ODA (Orphans & Disabled Arts association):

This is another small grass roots non profit we support. We love that they are mostly self sufficient using art as a tool to fund their non profit while giving children at this orphanage the opportunity to learn a valuable skill that will raise them above poverty.

Supporting the business of art!

We stop here on every trip and purchase a few hundred dollars worth of art from them as well as donate art supplies to the school/orphanage. A man and his wife started this small organization in 2003.

This is another location where a little help goes a long way!

This small grass roots organization sponsors and teaches underprivelidged youth how to sail, exposing them to a new view of their environment and teaching them important life skills that can be utilized beyond the decks of the boats they train on. We support them by donating money while sailing and helping them with their boats.

This program sponsored by the Kahala foundation brings awareness of the fragility of reafs to tourists and locals alike. We support this organization by volunteering our time to educate the public about how to care for reefs while swimming in the Hawaiian waters.
